RELATIONSHIP SEASONERS

Relationship is the bedrock of the society. It cuts across all spheres of life. Oxford Advanced Learner's Dictionary defines relationship as the way inwhich two people, groups or countries behave towards each other. We all engage in one form of relationship or the other be it at home, school, workplace, market, places of worship etc.
Every relationship requires some efforts to make it work. An unhealthy relationship can jeopardise a person's life. We should make it a point of duty to affect people positively everyday of our lives.
It will go a long way to building a healthy society.

CHARACTER
They are the qualities that make a person different from others. A person's character plays an important role in building a healthy relationship.
Let's look at some positive character traits that are important in building a healthy relationship.
Honesty
It has been said that honesty is the best policy.
No relationship can go far with lying. A healthy relationship requires an open communication. Bear in mind that friends you cannot trust are not real friends at all. Dishonesty only provides instant gratification that never last.
Loyalty
It is the glue that binds relationship together. Human beings desire companionship. A healthy relationship is built on trust and trust is an out come of loyalty.
Integrity
Integrity is doing the right thing at all times and in all circumstances, whether or not anyone is watching. A healthy relationship requires that you live by your principles no matter what others may say or think.

BOREDOM & HAPPINESS: THE TWO SIDES OF A COIN

HAPPINESS
Happiness means different things to different people. For long, people have always seen happiness as the essence of living and have not only devised means to obtain it, but developed a machinery to measure it.
Often times we have wrongly offered and believed in some happenings or occurrences or even change as happiness.
Happiness is not achievement or promotion as we have often time believed but a state which we can actually condition our minds to. The entire job of happiness starts on our very inside and radiates on the outside. It tells in our attitude, behaviour, speech, relationship, work, etc.
Happiness is not people. Even though we cannot dispute the fact that we are happier being with certain people, friends or family members, they all cannot define happiness. What happens when they die, desert us or temporarily exit our lives?
Happiness is not material possession. Have you asked yourself why some folks who have attained great status in life in terms of wealth and property acquisition end up being depressed, bored and unhappy?
Happiness is not geographical location. Young Africans have often times abandoned their schools and jobs to travel overseas in search of 'happiness '. Some are able to acclimatise while others are left frustrated.
Happiness is a state of well being ,emotional or mental, contentment, pleasantness , triumph and intense joy.
Happiness is within us. It is a choice!

BOREDOM & HAPPINESS : THE TWO SIDES OF A COIN (Part 1)

BOREDOM
Boredom is not only a feeling, it is an experience.
It is a craving or desire for something you do not have at the moment.

HOW TO KNOW WHEN YOU ARE BORED
  • indifferent boredom :A person appears relaxed, calm and withdrawn. It comes after a long day and you have nothing on your schedule.
  • calibrating boredom : A person's thought wanders and he desires to do something different from what he's doing at the moment but does not know how to go about it. The e person ends up not doing it at all. People that experience this kind of boredom usually perform repetitive tasks.
  • searching boredom : This boredom is associated with negative feelings, restlessness and creeping. People with this kind of boredom engage in doing things simply because they want to do something like singing, dancing, calling old time friends, chatting, browsing etc. They search for a way out and do all manner of things in an attempt to fight off boredom.
  • reactant boredom : This boredom is said to be the worst experienced. People experiencing this kind of boredom are highly aroused, restless, aggressive and have negative emotions. They blame their tedium on parents, employees, friends, lecturers etc., and try to avoid or run away from them.
  • apathetic : This type is characterised by helplessness attributed to depression and lack of motivation and lots of aversion . This boredom is common in circumstances where there are few or limited options available to people.
